Purpose

The GMFA framework is used for institutional instrument issuance and credit-facility inquiries involving LC, SBLC, bank guarantee, demand guarantee, direct-pay LC, bank draft, MTN fresh cut, Smart Plan collateral instruments, or similar structured instruments.

Process Summary

The application framework commonly follows this path:

  • Initial inquiry.
  • Instrument type and purpose review.
  • Required wording/verbiage collection.
  • KYC/AML readiness screening.
  • Account registration and onboarding.
  • Funding requirement review for RWA, proof of funds, or BCL.
  • Term sheet and risk confirmation.
  • Issuance, transmission, and verification where approved.

Required Information

Typical application fields include:

  • Applicant legal name, entity type, jurisdiction, registration number, address, authorized signatory, email, and phone.
  • Requested instrument type, amount, currency, tenor, expiry, transferability, revolving status, and auto-extension status.
  • Beneficiary name, address, bank name, SWIFT/BIC, account/IBAN where applicable, and contact.
  • Purchased/leased/needs-guidance selection.
  • Proof-of-funds, RWA, or BCL option.
  • Collateral type, value, chain-of-title status, and supporting documents.
  • Required wording/verbiage from the beneficiary or counterparty.
  • Delivery/messaging method such as MT798, MT700, MT760, MT799, MT999, MT103, MT202, MT202COV, pacs.008, pacs.009, or applicable ISO 20022 equivalents.
