2	nor diminish the fractions of the measure.
3	Do not desire a measure of the fields, and then
4	neglect those of the treasury.
5	The Ape sits by the balance,
6	his heart is in the plummet.
7	Where is there a God as great as Thoth ?
8	Who invented these things and made them ?
9	Do not make for yourself deficient weights,
10	they are rich in grief through the might of god.
11	If You see someone who cheats,
12	keep your distance from him.
13	Do not covet copper,
14	disdain beautiful linen.
15	What good is one dressed in finery,
16	if he cheats before the god ?
17	Faience disguised as gold,
18	comes morning, and it turns to lead.
